My problem started last weekend driving home from our local clubs car show. We were driving down the hwy and we were doing some spirited driving, everything was good then the rpms started to shoot up and the car wouldnt really go anywhere. Similar to being in neutral, then it stopped for a while and come back ect. It seems pretty obvious the tranny is slipping but im just not sure what to check. I searched on here and seems i need to replace the fluid and do a auto transmission diagnostic as agood starting point. Question is what type of transmission fluid should i use, is their any filter or anything else i should replace and can a 91TT run a auto diagnosic (i dont have the little lights i see in the write up for it) I would have already been digging into this problem before now but i can only work on the car on weekends since its in a different location than me during the week. Im just trying to get a idea of what to do when i start on this. Write up from tech pages
